Emergency preparation and exiting · WAC 110-300-0166(3)(a) · Serious

At the time of this inspection, licensor observed the emergency exit door leading to the backyard was locked from the inside, did not automatically unlock when the door handle was turned, and required the use of special knowledge to unlock/open. Licensor observed that the locked deadbolt was missing the knob or lever on the inside of the door that is used to manually lock or unlock the deadbolt. Provider can correct this by keeping the deadbolt on this emergency exit door unlocked during child care hours when enrolled children are present, and to use the type of door handle that automatically unlocks when the door handle is turned and can be opened from the inside without the use of a key, tools, or special knowledge.
